Hey, guys!
October 16, 2009
I’ve wanted to write a blog for a while, just because I’ve thought that maybe my opinions or expressions could add to the blogosphere. I guess the best way to describe my reason for blogging is that I wanted to shout into the sky, at the clouds, the planets, whatever, without looking crazy while doing so. Never mind that there are about a billion other people shouting at the same time, but it just feels good to shout: to let out the frustrations, triumphs, tragedies, and epiphanies of my life. This blog will consist of my own thoughts, observations, opinions, and revelations (if I have any) on life. I hope that maybe someone out there in the wide world will find some sort of use for my contributions. We all want to feel significant in some way, so I suppose that this is my way of contributing at least a grain of salt to the ocean of our culture. Part of the reason I’m blogging is also to feel not so alone. I know, I know, it sounds so “emo”, but it’s true sometimes. I can feel like no one thinks the way I do, or that I’m not “normal” (whatever that means) and so this blog becomes a coping mechanism, a way to work out my problems through writing. Hopefully, this will also serve a purpose to help those who might feel alone or “not normal” in that this is another voice he/she can relate to. That being said, though, I also hope that this blog evolves over time as I learn more about blogging and take from comments and constructive criticism.
Okay, now come the rules of my blog: the bottom line is this is a positive space. That means that if you want to comment or discuss a blog or any of the topics I bring up, make sure the comments are positive. Criticism does NOT mean name-calling, putting down, or any type of degradation, harassment, etc. Constructive criticism is appreciated and welcomed. Please, think before you post; this isn’t the comments section on YouTube. Act your age and be civil to EVERYONE, even if you disagree with them. I reserve the right to delete comments, but I will only do so if a commentator hasn’t followed these rules. I am a HUGE free-speech advocate, but free speech doesn’t mean you have the right to troll in here. Oh, and one final thing on comments: if I can’t understand your comment, I won’t approve it. Basic spelling and grammar are GREATLY appreciated.
That’s all for now. I’ll begin the real blogs as soon as possible…I’m really busy, so if you don’t see one for a while, bear with me. I’ll get around to it eventually.
Thanks and enjoy,
E.P.
